Cooking Class in Perth, Anyone Want to Join? Plus my Favourite Recipe from the West.

Calling all people in Perth. I will be in my former home town in less than two weeks. Can't wait to smell the bush over there, have my hair blown back in the spring breeze and be in awe of the incredible bush and its flowers again. I am going over to take my mum on a personal retreat in celebration of her turning seventy this year and am so excited. In addition I will be running two cooking classes in the northern suburbs of Perth. One is completely full and the other still has four places left.

The cooking class will be the seasonal cooking class where we will create delights using what is in season. We will make snacks, mains, desserts and drinks. The class includes both my cook books, all produce used, afternoon tea and an early dinner plus the possibility of taking food home as samples to share with family or friends or take to work Monday morning. The class runs from 1 pm to 530 pm on Sunday the 14th September and costs $145. If interested please contact me at
veetscuisine@gmail.com or call 0403 800 809. Please share this blog post with those who you think may be interested.

For those of you in the west or other areas that have access to my two favourite vegetables here is a great recipe for you

Celeriac and Fennel Bake

1 medium bulb of celeriac thinly sliced and steamed for 8 minutes

1 medium fennel sliced and steamed for 5 minutes

4 large tomatoes

4 sun dried tomatoes  (the ones that haven't been marinated yet- that are still dry) sliced finely

salt and pepper to taste

macadamia cheese  (recipe in Fresh and Vibrant)

Steam the vegetables as above. Process the tomatoes in a processor or dice small. Place the tomatoes in a bowl and add the sundried tomatoes, salt and pepper to taste. Let sit for 10 minutes. Preheat the oven to 180 C. Place the steamed fennel and celeriac in a baking dish. Pour the tomatoes over the vegetables  bake in the oven for 15 minutes or until heated through. If using the macadamia cheese sprinkle on the bake after it comes our of the oven.
